There are several hundred albums and thousands of individual photographs given to John Paul II located at the Center for Documentation and Research of the Pontificate in Rome. They were donated by people from Poland and all around the World, clergy, laymen and from various institutions. The great part of this collection came to the Center from the Polish Section Secretary of State of the Holy See. Many photos have the signature of the Pope confirming that he saw them.
The inclusion of the photos serve as a resource to help one familiarize themselves better with the life
and pontificate of John Paul II. The descriptions of each photo and the search engine can be helpful
for conducting research.
Information about the authors and the owners of all copyrights is marked on each photo.
